Hi, I'm
Kim Bao
A student of Political Science driven by a desire to understand and shape the mechanics of society. Growing up with a background in journalism and having traveled across the globe, I have always viewed the world not as a mere tourist but as an observer seeking to decode the underlying laws of social governance.
These journeys sparked an enduring curiosity, compelling me to use photography as a medium to document the intersection of modern shifts and fading cultural heritage. For me, research and visual storytelling are more than just tools, they are bridges to understanding the human experience. This is what fuels my commitment to Political Science: an ambition to bridge the gaps between global policy and the everyday pulse of the community.

Where My Story Begins
Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a solid foundation, and for me, that foundation is my family. I grew up in a household with a strong tradition in journalism, where knowledge and freedom of thought were always encouraged. To me, family was more than just a home; it was my first school, teaching me to observe the world through a multifaceted and empathetic lens.

My worldview was shaped by the professional stories of my dad, a veteran journalist with extensive experience in press and broadcasting management. Through his narratives, the world was never merely a collection of names on a map, but a dynamic flow of events and profound human stories.

My dad did more than just spark my curiosity; he encouraged me to immerse myself in reality. Our travels through Thailand, Laos, Singapore, China, South Korea, and beyond provided me with a firsthand window into the world, from the nuances of architecture and culture to the diverse ways in which societies connect. It was through these experiences that a deep-seated passion for social values and governance began to take root.

The US Summer Camp - The First Horizon
My journey to the U.S. in 2023 marked a special milestone: it was the first time I truly stepped beyond Asia through an international summer camp program. In Boston and New York City, I was not only overwhelmed by the fast-paced modern life but also deeply captivated by the dynamic learning environment. I spent my time exploring historic libraries and innovation hubs, while observing how public systems operate with remarkable discipline.

Interacting with friends from all corners of the globe during the camp helped me realize the profound power of cross-cultural connection. This trip was more than just a collection of beautiful memories; it was a defining opportunity to hone my leadership mindset, inspiring me to delve deeper into how major organizations govern and drive meaningful community change.

The U.K Summer Camp
Continuing my journey of exploration, my academic summer camp in the UK offered a period of profound reflection. I had the opportunity to experience the lifestyle and academic rigor in Market Harborough, visit the ancient Warwick Castle, and immerse myself in the rich cultural landscapes of London, Oxford, and Liverpool. I was particularly struck by how the British preserve heritage sites like Westminster and Greenwich in perfect harmony with modern development.
It was here that I learned a humbling lesson about the finiteness of knowledge: the world is boundless, and what we know is but a single grain of sand in a vast ocean. This newfound humility taught me that to truly understand social governance, one must never stop learning and must always respect the diverse values that shape our world.
